Guess we're gonna have to wait another 3 days for Dirt2

Just went on to stream hoping to put my download on.

Apparently due to some huge in game bug.

If it is true, I imagine a day 1 patch would be most likely.

How can such a game-breaking bug be alllowed past QA?

I find this hard to believe. For retail, the shops will already have the discs in stock or they'll at least have already been pressed and boxed.

A critical bug like this would either mean a post release patch, or binning tonnes of stock and repressing, which would be mad!

Think retail might of got angry and wanted Steam to release later? Or Steam just weren't ready from their side/Codemasters sent them the master copy too late?

Either way it's only 3 days

UK was always planned as 4th Dec anyway. US was supposed to be today but got put back another week and checked the official forums and as expected the yanks are upset (even though they get almost every other game before us :rolleyes:

) as of yesterday UK is still down for this Friday.

Steam will not get a major release ahead of retail (unless its a valve game) because that undercuts the retailers and takes business away so they would refuse to stock the game. Same reason why digital downloads are not cheaper as again it undercuts the physical copy.

Always always always will choose to wait 3 days (or 3 weeks) for game WITHOUT big bug ..

Codemasters - take your time -- fix it right -- THEN get us the game ..

The last thing I want is to install it and everytime I press 'launch' it immediately crashes because I haven't got an Nvidia graphics card!

Tried the demo last night and it took ages to get to a point where i could actually play it. After i finished the race good job alt & F4 worked for me. Really annoys me when menu screens, videos etc do not allow you to press esc/return to skip through them

yeah, dirt2 wins at most ott menu system I've played recently, just give me a damn list of things to pick from, I don't want to have to walk between menu options
