***DiRT™2***

Am I the only one that thinks some area/circuit based offroad gaming will be brilliant fun! I mean come on, we all know how much a true Rally game would suck for online play, and Online play is big business now. Im all in favor of some rally cross action online!

Roll on DX11. The architecture of DX11 should improve things somewhat.

There is no reason you can't do rally cross but in a non motocross circuit environment. One of the old McRae (when his car in game was a Ford) games did that - you raced on normal rally style terrain but vs other cars at the same time.

Just recently posted on Flickr some pics from the DiRT 2 stand at the recent Festival of Speed at Goodwood. Take a look if you're interested :)

They were super specials, and are part of normal stage rallying.

I remember spending hours of my life playing rallysport challenge 2 on the xbox. Nobody seems to want to make proper rally games with full lentgh stages any more, so id much rather have a motocross style arcade thrash about than the half assed rally style games we used to get where all the stages were 2 mins long...

I was really hankering for an arcady fun track based game and GRID filled that gap perfectly, now im really hoping for an awesome multiplayer offroad racing game with decent online, i just hope DiRT 2 fills that!

The video on gametrailers was uploaded incorrectly it appears as the framerate appears to lag. There are numerous HD versions of the videos on youtube that show the correct framerate which is very smooth :)

 hope that is the 360 version  the framerate looked quite poor and didnt come across smooth like the other vids ..

That's down to the video encoding, not the actual game. The 'Codemasters' intro was choppy too, and that's actual video footage, not gameplay.

Of course it is, they've even said that they're holding off on the pc release until Windows 7 is out so they can make use of DX11.
