I've got a Fractal Design Define XL case as my ESXi server which has a big blue light on the power button which my son is drawn to like a magnet and enjoys pressing it lots of times which has took down my VMs several times. Is there any way of disabling or changing how it behaves in a BIOS setting or something? Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58. Ta.

Yes it can have multiple functions but I think it always switches off with a hold down press of several seconds. I've got mine set to Sleep when pressed, it's quite convenient for me. I do seem to recall a No Function option too. It's set in BIOS but I'm afraid I don't recall which section.

You can also disconnect the Power LED from the motherboard so the blue light doesn't come on.

If your usung Vista or 7 there is a option in the power and settings in the control panel which you can change what the button does along with start menu button.

Lock it up in a cabinet and only get it out when it needs maintainance, when its 16yrs old you can kick him out the house. Your PC should be safe and sound then. Saying that, your wife might not like you locking your kids up for a number of years.

As above, but if you don't turn if off much just plug in a switch internally (or use a screwdriver) and pop the side off when you want to turn it on :)

I had the same problem with my daughter and my NZXT Phantom case.

I just disabled the button, you can also chose sleep, hibernate and default action

EDit: A 3 second hold still powers off, and the button also power back on again if off.
