Disabling the firewall in a DG834N

Hi all,

Anyone know how to turn off the in built firewall in a Netgear DG834N router? My mate is trying to troubleshoot some connection probs he's having play Fifa 08 online through his Wii.

would setting up the wii's ip as a DMZ work?

under WAN Setup, disable Disable Port Scan and DOS Protection... that helped me out

could try putting the router in the DMZ? 192.168.0.1

Do you mean you have had the same issue with Fifa 08? or was your issue with something else. I'll ask my mate to try that one ta.

I had an issue with Civ4 and did that

Stoke... can you put remote access on his router then mail me his IP address and username and password to stelly at gmail dot com... let me have a look myself?

We've added the ports to his firewall rules to let all traffic through it to his Wii yes, with regards to letting you having a look - thanks for the offer mate but he was sceptical about letting me connect to it and i'm a close friend so I don't think he'll want someone else messing

just can't think of any other option to try on his router!
