Hi all,

Might be a stupid question, but is it possible to disable a 3rd GPU? I get that not all games will scale well and might even perform worse so it might be best to disable a GPU. How exactly do you do that? In CCC I only have enable or disable Crossfire, but I'm not sure if that only gets rid of 1 GPU or disables it all together.

For reference I have:

R9 295x2 + R9 290x

There should be a drop down below where you can enable or disable crossfire.

Also, you can set up a profile for specific games under 3d settings to disable for only certain games - like I currently have to do with bound by flame.

in CCC under crossfire you should have something like this:

I have not used a 295X2 but I suspect that it is a bit like one of my 5970s in CCC. If you disable crossfire with a 295X2 and a 290X you will still be running 2 GPUs on the 295X2.

With my HD 5970s if I run with CF on with two cards (4 GPUs) I get quadfire. If I run with CF off I still get 2 way crossfire off of one card.

The above is all providing you are using the 295X2 as the primary card.

I think that's it. With just the R9 295x2 plugged in, there's no option to disable Crossfire. I'm guessing disabling it with the 3rd one in, is simply removing that one.

Thanks everyone.
