Flotation Tank/ Sensory Deprivation Chambers

Pretty cool for meditation and stuff. If you're interested in building one of your own you can if you have a spare £5000 (including a ******* of salt)

lets have a chat about what the mind does when you have no SENSORY INPUT at all :D

*cough*

uhmmmm.... to help you out theres a program on bbc2 HORIZON right now 9pm that features people undergoing a sensory deprivation experiment. It might be interesting to watch.....

cool, i'd love to try that, sometimes i feel i'd love to "die" for a couple of days, no matter how much relaxation or how much partying i do, never feel right, i'm happy but i'd love to take that kind of holiday, a break from life as it were.

hrmm thought it was a bit biaised... and tbh poorly thought out.

Certainly a focus on sensory deprivation as a torture method and how it affects our ability to function in the world.
They mainly seemed to be looking for the negatives. I would have preferred a longer-lasting/more wide ranging experiment maybe.

but then did anyone else think....

blimey they all held it in for 48 hrs

I'm surprised they didn't focus more on the woman who had to wear the headphones. She slept for 48 hours? They didn't think that was even more freaky than seeing a pile of oyster shells?
