Just got a Samsung LE32C550 to replace my Acer AL2671W which is on its way out, takes three or four attempts to turn on.
To say i'm disappointed with the Samsung is a under statment the picture is nowhere near as good as the Acer. The colours on the Samsung are all washed out (pale to my mum), theres a green or purple tinge colour near dark areas of the screen, skin colours look way off and dark black areas are light and very pixelated.
I'm not sure if its me Im expecting to much from the tv or if its faulty. I've tryed everything it says in the manual and looked on internet av forums but nothing seems to make the picture any better. I'm only using scart from my sky+ box not HD and the RF input so expected alittle pixelation with it being full HD TV but it is unwatchable at times. These all work fine on the Acer.

Heres a few pictures what do you think?

Hi there does look a little weird have you tried to reset all the settings in the options menu to factory defaults?.

All so your Acer I had a similar problem with an LG I got does it make any noises when trying to come on?.

Do you live close to me I live in Oxford if you want to I could take a look at the Acer for you? as I may be an easy fix.

All the best

EDIT

What is your Sky box settings RGB or Comp?

The photo of the TV guide looks like the Sky box is set to composite instead of RGB scart as D.Roberts says, try changing that in the Sky settings. Either that or the cable you're using isn't very good.

Thanks for the replys.
The Sky box is set to the following scart control on, video output RGB and contrast high. I have tryed the contrast set to low and medium, high gives the best picture. I will try a new scart lead see if that helps but the same things happen on RF. Have tryed turning the sharpening down to 0 but just made the green and purple tinge bigger.
I'm going to hook it up to the computer today to see how that looks (HDMI cable).

D.Roberts, sorry live miles away, but thanks for the offer. I have looked into getting the Acer fixed but the prices seemed high. The Acer turns on then will just lock up within seconds sound but no picture or when working will just power down, this could happen anything from being on from minutes to hours.

I think the best test will be when you hook it up to the PC using HDMI. It might look a little blurry to start with if overscan is turned on, so see if you can find any options related to overscan or PC mode if that's the case.

The picture looking the same with RF suggests a cable issue as composite and RF will show similar distortions due to their lack of quality.

Sorry for the lack of update, but been busy all weekend at a wedding and other things.

Got hold of a new scart cable gold plated and shielded, this help alittle with the picture less green and red tinge but still there and the picture still looks washed out.

hooked the PC up to it via the vga lead and the picture was still all washed but a lot clearer but still along way off a good picture. Also There was a blue line from top to bottom of the screen about a inch in on the right when using the vga input.

There is a non moving test picture in the diagnose menu which is perfect, and I can not get nowhere near that picture for quality especially the colours and clarity.

Am taking the TV to a friends house to test on his sky hd and ps3 tomorrow.

All the people that have seen the TV working say it looks colourless and blured.
