I had a sneaking suspicion you would go the marantz 6005 route over the cambridge audio and that's not a slight on cambridge audio products far from it. But from your initial posting the 6005 seem to tick all the boxes in the sound category you seem to be looking for.

I have the same amp for my second setup which is based around my pc. Hope you post some pics of your setup.

Do you mean the magnets to attach the speaker grilles to the speaker?

Don't get me wrong, amps do make a difference to the sound of a system. But at this sort of level their contribution is far less significant than the speakers.

Three years later and a random websurfer would like to say thanks for this clear reply.

I am a complete newbie when it comes to AV. and was doing some research as I have a PMA-720 and some Mordunt speakers that I use for my TV.

Decided to try to get a bit more from my system for music and was considering replacing amp and speakers. Reckon I’ll just change
speakers and put the Mordunts in the rear.

Your 3 year old post probably just saved me an arm and a leg for my wants.
