The story starts. I buy a completely new rig as separate components.
Build everything up, spend hours making the cables tidy.
oh no. the PSU is making a pathetic squealing noise, (corsair tx850) sent it back for an RMA refund, and purchased a new one from elsewhere.
Set up the new PSU, its fine and dandy (high five cooldermaster!)
settle down to a lazy afternoon of gaming.
Game crashes within 30 seconds of loading it.
ATItools and furmark prove my brand spanking new msi gtx 470 twin frozr to be defect.
While I was in troubleshooting mode, I also checked out my 12gb corsair xms3 1600 ram.
Memtest86+ tells me that both of the 6gb kits i purchased were also faulty.
three items went back for RMA (world record of 4 items being defective in one system?)
Received my goods back today, ram seems fine, though I've not tested it yet.
I open the box of my new gtx 470, to find the sticker on the top of the card says gtx460.
WHAT THE F*CK. thats right a 460 inside a 470's box, did you think i wouldnt notice that?

All in all, 2 weeks wasted on faulty or WRONG goods.
I'll be on the ringer tomorrow for a full refund on all the items I've purchased, and I don't care what they say.

Kind regards,
Jimmy

Hi Jimmy

you cant blame the company for faulty goods.. they dont make them , they just sell them

you sound like you have been very unlucky but its hardly overclockers fault, its the manufactures

(putting the wrong card in the box aside)

ps. were you properly grounded when you built your pc ?

Can't fault you Jimmy. Sounds like you've had a rough 2 weeks mate. I've also had a mare of late with faulty psu's, leaking pumps....I could go on forever. If you're not happy then get your money back mate.

RoEy

No offence but the chances of getting that many faulty products in one haul is near-impossible. Not trying to point the finger at anyone, but if anything it sounds as though you may have damaged something or they were damaged in transit.
Either way, there's a forum for customer service, use it ;)

aye, i wear a anti static wrist band on all builds.
I understand its not their fault, but I'm far from caring anymore, I must have wasted 60 quid on phone calls to them, aswell as 20 quid for sending the stuff back.
I moved to PC because of the troubles I had with a previous imac (had 3 of them, every screen was yellow and bleeding from all edges)
It seems technology just isnt for me.

We do not open stock if the wrong card was in the box then the manufacturer causes that. (if it was a new replacement card)

Faulty hardware - again we do not manufacture so again not our fault.

We do understand how frustrating it can be though, so give us a call tomorrow and we can talk to you about your order.

I am closing this thread now, if you want to post again, please use the correct forums - the Customer Service section, it is here for a reason :)
