Disaronno

CRAP vodka is crap.
You mess around with Stolychnaya, Wolfschmidt or (shudder) Smirnoff, then yes you will have a pointless experience.
Just like crap gin is crap. To me, Gordon's just tastes like diluted Flash kitchen cleaner without the overpowering Pine scent.

I didn't say a twist, either - I said lemon peel.
Get thee to a decent restaurant, with a proper sommelier and have THEM mix you a 'proper' vodka martini. It should have a friendly bite, biut certainly NOT be raw in any way!

No no no, I've drank £100 a bottle vodka before, it just tastes like raw alcohol to me. I think pricey vodka is a fad, marketing hype. For the same reason they can charge premium money for Chivas Regal - Once upon a time it was considered cheap nasty crap, they then rebranded.

I tend to stick with a tanqueray no. 10 for martinis.

I don't care for it at all but my wife loves it, has it with Lemonade and pretty much has a glass most nights before dinner...i'll just stick to the beers thanks all the same.

They have a really cheap version in Tesco but the label says in small print "almond flavoured distilled spirit". Sounds distinctly dodgy to me - like they just chucked almond flavouring into pure alcohol.

I love disaronno, may be picking myself up a bottle today!

For me it's best straight on ice or with a squeeze of fresh lime in it.

Has anyone tried a Disaronno Sicily?

1 part DISARONNO
1 part Limoncello
1 part Lemon juice

I've recently stocked up on a couple of bottles of Adnams Copper House Limoncello so may give it a go tomorrow night.

Ice and Lemon is all you need in a nice glass. Christmas eve I'll be drinking my way through a bottle, been holding off waiting for it as it's my Christmas tipple.
