Ordered the following part as a build for my Dad, really simple stuff plus I had a few bits and pieces he could use.
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit -
Silverstone SST-PS03B Precision Midi Tower Case - Black
OcUK Battle 450W Dual Rail High Efficiency Modular Power Supply
ASRock N68C-S UCC GeForce 7025 (Socket AM3/AM2+) DDR2/DDR3 microATX Motherboard
OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz
AMD Sempron 140 2.70GHz (Socket AM3) Processor -
OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Everything arrived fine and dandy.
Put it together the usual way, being a simple build it wasn't too bad.
Now the problems.
It switched on fine, PSU lit up, fans running, MB screen booted from screen to CD..started to load Windows..this failed a few times with error codes, swapped the ram sticks about (taking one out/ leaving one in etc), till on the second attempt it loaded windows fine, so..am I thinking right one of the OCZ sticks is faulty?.
Continuing as Windows installs and boots as normal, Working on installing the wireless link and the power cuts out, went to switch it back on and now nothing... completely dead and I have no clue what to try next, have swapped out the PSU for another one that I had spare, still dead, everything disconnected...just the CPU and MB cables in with the Power button cable in..nothing.
So am I to assume then the Motherboard is dead?
Please shed some light or opinion on this, Dad was looking forward to it and I talked about how easy it would be for simple system
, the one bunch of stuff I get and their seems to be faults riddled through it.
