Hi guys,

Just picked this up but every time I launch it the game is running in the background (I can hear the game music) but it crashes my monitor and turns it off :confused:

I've tried searching the net but no answers anywhere, something suggests creating a shortcut and launching in window mode adding "-windowed" to the target line but that states invalid target and won't let me add the line.

Can anyone help? On the verge of refunding as I have been messing about for over an hour and cannot fix it.

Have you tried running it as admin or in compatibility mode?

Reinstalling it?

Disabling Steam sync files?

Verify integrity of game cache?

I also found this on the Steam forums, so it may be worth a try. No idea if it's certain to work, though.

"Then, double-click on the file named PhysX-9.11.1111-SystemSoftware_bak.msi

Accept the license agreement and then it should pop up with an error stating that "The currently installed version of the drivers is newer than what you are trying to install".

Next, we'll tell steam that PhysX was actually installed correctly.

Open up the registry editor (open up the start menu and type regedit)

If you're running 64-bit windows, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Valve\Stea m\Apps\205100
If you're running 32-bit windows, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\Apps\20510 0

Then, go to the Edit menu and select New -> and then select DWORD Value.

Name the new value PhysXRedist

Finally, double-click on PhysXRedist and in the pop-up window, set its value to 1.

The Registry Editor should now look something like this: http://imgur.com/0vBFPDl
You can ignore the other registry values.

Now, start up Dishonored, if PhysX was the problem, then it should be fixed"

Sounds like it's trying to run a res your monitor doesnt recognise? No freesync/gsync at play? I know mine will blackscreen temporarily if you breach 90fps as it switches out of freesync

Can you still alt/tab?

Cant speak specifically for dishonoured but going off it being a bethesda game maybe you can changenthe resolution manually in the config files, i used to have to do this for skyrim to get it to run tripke screen.

Its worth spending a little more time fixing it, its a very good game.

Like Modo says, you should stick with it & sort it out, it's a tremendous game.
