My computer keeps saying "Disk boot failure insert system disc" when starting up, this is after a black screen with a flashing cursor for about 2mins.. Yet if i press F8 and tell it to boot from the right disc, it works perfectly..

Anybody got any ideas?

The hard drive is Samsung F1 1TB

Cheers

I think the cables are aright, will restart and check in a second. How long does the battery last? I will take it out and check it, do you know what voltage they are?

thanks

Bios battery 3v but down to 2.5v should still work, make sure the bios hasnt had a brain fart, check the sammy is still the default boot drive

Is it actually set to boot from this disk, and only this disk, in the bios?
If it is set to boot from HD first, and this is the first disk, then you've perhaps got a connection problem or your HD is taking a very long time to spin up.

It sounds like you've got it set to boot from CD from first looks.

nobody`s left a floppy disc or cd in the drive ??

an is ya HD set to first boot in the bios ??
