DISK BOOT FAILURE, PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

Any tips? Completely stuck =/ Let me know if you need any more info.

Does the windows disc actualy load!
Are you trying to load windows for the first time.
The CD ROM should spin up load the windows screens and pre-pare you for installtion then it shows which HD you want to install on.

To me whats happening it's not reading the CD ROM and is trying to find an operating system on a blank hard drive .

Rob :)

Is your CD-drive recognised in the BIOS? Try diasbling 2nd boot device. Also is there and option for DVD drive instead of CD?

After POST all I get is "DISK BOOT FAILURE, PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

Re-checked all cables and tried resetting bios.

Looks like it's not reading the CD ROM, had this the other day, wanted to restore my
hard discs to RAID set it up in the BIOS as you have done ie boot order, put my Acronis boot disc
in and would not boot, this went for the Vista disc as well.
Tried putting the disc to IDE mode rebooted it read the disc first and loaded Acronis,
went back to RAID no go.

In the end I had to use my IDE DVD drive and it worked, for some reason it would not
boot from my SATA DVD drives in RAID mode only in IDE mode.

Do you have an IDE cd/dvd rom drive to use.

Rob

Read something about SATA drivers from a floppy that suppose to come with motherboard, I've got nothing.

I'll take DVD drive out of this one and try.

Just found my Windows XP disk, same error message.

Give that ago, daft thing is I installed Vista originaly with these SATA DVD drives,
without needing to use any drivers, only thing thats changed is I updated the BIOS.

Oh well, Good luck!

Rob

Well that was failure on a massive level.

Unplugged all cables from this DVD drive, only to realise the dvd drive doesn't come out, at all (don't ask) so i lined it up with the new computer, only to realise it doesn't have an IDE slot.

Plugged everything back it...this PC wouldn't post. Spent the last two hours fiddling about, it finally booted up, and here I am.

Just checked the manual you should have 2, one next to the ATX power supply is for
the floppy & the green one looks 90deg angle just below the floppy is for harddrive and cd drives.

Rob

when i first tried to install vista 64 ultimate edition, my brand new samsung sata dvd drive wouldnt read the disk, and i got the same error i think, used my older lg sata drive, and all was fine, maybe the samsung needs a firmware update, but havnt tried it since

Ah right, saw something but it was obscured behind graphics card, will have to take it off to get to it, will do that now. Hopefully this computer won't die for another two hours.

@Jfan, I think that may be the problem, it says it will work with the drivers included in Windows, but I can't install Windows without the drivers!
