Disk Check taking ages

I am trying to disk check while within windows but it takes a few hours to get to like 5-010% don't how much exactly since its only a green bar. This occurs on other disks not just one so i doubt its hard drive failure. Any ideas? How to speed it up.

Failing that is there a way to set up a disk check on all drives and i can leave it on over night?

have you tried it from the command line? use

chkdsk x: /f

x is the drive letter

/f is to force it. you can choose to restart windows if the drive is in use.

if that's still slow, i'd be looking at trying different cables/ports on the mobo.
