I defrag my pc fairly regually, normally one a week. With all the files being moved around and such, surely there is the potential for files to be put in the wrong place and lost by the operating system, or made corrupt?

My question really is, has anyone ever had any problems though defraging their hard drives?

Im using perfect disk.

only when I antecedently pulled the wrong plug out.had to reinstall windows.
no need to do it that often unless you innstall or add new files a hell of a lot.

Big fan of perfect disk.
Did mess a drive up with it's help once (but checkdsk and a demented RAID0 array had to give it a BIG hand").

I only usually defrag after a big deleting mission, or if some temp files or something have inadvertantly filled the drive, anything else written around them will be a big mess.
Apart from that, once every few weeks.
