Today when i turned on my PC and reached Windows i got something like the following message.

"Disk error press ctrl + alt + delete to reset"

After allowing Scandisk to do its business, everything was fine.

The HD is a Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 NCQ 160GB, only had it for about 7 months.

Do you think I should replace the drive?

Thanks

Ben

You can format it first. Sometimes your system files such as the master boot record may get corrupted. It happened to my HD and it wouldnt boot into windows at all.

Try Format and reinstall before throwing the drive away!

edit: Is your drive around 5 years old because if so then it may be wise to get a new one and use this one as a slave.
