We have a Roku TV and the Disney + app keeps freezing but sound still playing and sound goes but stream still playing. We have rebooted the TV, reinstalled the app to clear caches etc but still doing it. I have googled the issue and all results list like 5 ways to fix it but nothing is working.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, I turned that off years ago. If you watched an app for too long, the memory would run out and the tV would crash. Sent it back as it was fairly new. They said there's nothing wrong with it, as designed.

The freezing on Disney thing sometimes goes away sometimes though.

My solution was to get a Nvidia Shield.

Ill try that start up think and also, I personally have not noticed any freezing when I watch what I watch on Disney, my wife is the one with the freezing issue, I wonder if its the program. She was watching 9-11, some emergency fire station drama thing.

Possible your is Roku overheating? There have been a couple of versions of the Roku that are particularly bad in this regard - especially once the thermal pad inside has aged
Not noticed over heating, all other streaming services dont freeze of sound goes off. Its well ventilated, not on all day long. I think its the program thats the cause. I will try another program on disney later to see if it does the same thing.

not me bud that's paying for a streaming service that runs like crude!
Its never done anything like that before until the wife watched her series i mentioned. Well after watching random stuff on it last night there wasn't any freezing, sound going off etc. then I tried the series my wife watches and it started stuttering/freezing etc. went back to watch something else and it was fine. Looks like it was just that tv series for some reason.

Disney+ app on my lg c9 freezes sometimes or drops down to lowest video quality for a few seconds and back up again. No idea why, disabling quick startup didn't help either..

Watch Frozen or Frozen II, and then it will have definitely frozen! (I'll grab my coat)

Serious reply - I don't have any issues with D+ on my Philips TV, but I do keep a laptop behind the TV, plugged in and with HDMI connected. Sometimes I like to play online slots on the big screen, and having the laptop behind the TV means that it's ready as and when it's needed. Could be an option if you have a laptop and a spare HDMI cable? Then you can play D+ using a web browser on the laptop to the TV.

Edit: I use a laptop stand so that it can stand vertical behind the TV. The lid remains shut and it just slots into this small metal base. The bracket the holds the laptop upright can be adjusted to fit the width of the laptop, from 14mm up to 69mm, so it can fit anything from slim ultrabooks up to the wider gaming counterparts.

So, I watched 4 episodes of Prison Break on Disney last night, not a glitch to be seen. My wide is watching something now and I asked her if it has frozen or sound gone off, she said no. Then she put subtitles on (mainly because of the noise I am making) and after a few minutes the sound went off. Different program to what she normally watches too. Subs are on most of the time when she is watching streaming services. Im wondering if subs has anything to do with it?

We also have subs enabled, I can try and disable them and see if it still happens
