Hi guys, just rebuilt my pc with an i5 and new motherboard, and I keep getting this error pop up. It's completely random, usually at the most annoying times and I have never got it before :(. The gtx 580 is running at stock under water.

Any ideas? :(

Hmm.. Reinstalled the driver and everything seems cushty now... Odd...

Edit:nope just flashed up three times in a row. This is a 400 quid graphics card, I should not be having to put up with this ****

you should have got 6950 crossfire lol, on a serious note i did have this with 5770 xfire but i thought it was down to the 2d clocks being set to low but a quick google found plenty of people with both ati and nvidia with the same problem, i also read it was down to a windows update but never found any proof of this, but the problem did seem to sort itself out in the end

Cool, thanks :)

I did actually have 6950 xfire, but sold it due to not being able to afford to sacrifice a goat to the gods of black magic everytime I wanted to play a game in eyefinity :D

I'll download every win7 update I can find, see what fixes it :)

Oh yeah now I remember :D

Just noticed about 150 updates to install, guess reinstalling windows wasn't the best idea ever on 150kb/s download speeds :(

I hope not! I have to update my water-cooling sticky with about 60 pics that I took. I spent about 5 hours rebuilding the whole bloody thing lol :D

It normally means an unstable overclock but as u are running stock this is unlikely, what model is it and what is the stock clocks and volts ?
Edit: i see in ur build log it's an Msi Twin Frozr II which is factory overclocked to 800MHz, as i asked above check the stock volts using Afterburner it has been known for some factory overclocked cards to get shipped with a too lower voltage to be stable.

Yeah I'll try overvolting, see if that helps. It's really weird as I had it stable at 1ghz in my old rig

As you can guess from my post it's still happening. Regularly. I've installed just about every windows update thingy, and nothing has worked. Upset ain't quite the word, I haven't had a pc for three weeks, and when I fix it it starts being a complete bitch :(

Weeks...

My old rig (before the motherboard blew up) was an i7 860 and an MSi p55-GD65.

This new system is A LOT faster, a lot cooler, and works like a charm... apart from this issue. I'm going to install SP1 to see if that helps...

Not sure where abouts u live but where i am it's pretty warm, thermometer in this room says 26.7c, i know urs is watercooled so it shouldn't be an issue just an idea.

I used to get this a lot on my old NV cards.. normally just after a driver update when I forgot to run DriverSweeper in between. So just a simple unsintall, clean and reinstall sorted it.. Sometimes it was more random.. I guess it's just a generic message though. Have you checked the Event log?

Where's the event log again? I can't for the life of me remember

I'm now struggling to get into windows, it's that bad :(

Randomly started getting worse... Rma time? :(

I would think the new system would use less power than X58 setup so i can't see it being a power issue unless the psu is dying.
Always a apin with watercooling as u can't just take it out and try in another system.
