Display issues

Hi all,

I'm having a bit of an issue with a new monitor I've just bought. I finally made the move from crt 19 to a 24 tft. Problem is I am getting an issue with certain objects on screen.
The shadow affect Windows 7 casts on open windows to the right has white and black lines (faint) running vertically where it should be fading smoothly.

I've just connected my monitor upto the laptop but that is not having the issue.

Anyone got any idea what this could be?

i7 930
5850
6 gig ram
using D Sub cable
11.6 drivers (just getting the 11.6b now)

I've installed the 11.6b drivers and its still the same.
Also its not just on the window edges, its happening on icons, system tray icons and clock. in fact most things it seems.

Will a DVI cable be better? Just with it being fine on the laptop on the D-Sub i'm confused

So I've taken the monitor to a mates house, he has the same monitor and its fine on his pc. Connected my monitor up and its fine on his also on D-Sub.

I'm at a loss, why is my pc having ghosting?

Ever feel like your talking to yourself?

Anyway, nicked a mates spare DVI cable and that has fixed it.

Strange how it works fine on my mates pc on the d-sub but not mine.
