Display Port G/C

I don' think cheap cards will cut it for eyefinity gaming mate (not if you want to run decent settings anyway), the bigger the res, the more vram you will need and the beefier card as well. I would suggest at least 1 2Gb 6950, maybe even 2 in XFire depending on how much eye candy you expect to have.

What's your budget, what PSU model do you have and what resolutions are the monitors running at?

As ThePengu1n said, running Eyefinity will require quite a beefy card so something like a 2gb 6950 will help provide reasonable framerates at reasonable quality.

My monitors are 1680 x 1050 ??? im also upgradeing my power supply haha

are there any other ways to do it??? iv seen Matrox TripleHead2Go??? will this work with the g/cs i have now (xfx 9600 gso x2)

does anyone know why on some cards when it doesnt have a display port but says it can support eyefinity

also what about 5750 two of them??? Im not a mad gamer i only play games now and then and when i do i dont play high high graphics... i just think it would be cool to use 3 monitors when i do game lol :D greatfull for your help/input

Nvidia does their own (surround). It requires 2 cards minimum though - which isn't an issue if you are planning to get 2 cards anyway.

If you don't mind running games at medium graphic settings, a 5870 or 5850 might work. People used single 5870's in eyefinity when the technology was first introduced, though i haven't tried it.

Try a single 5850 for now seeing as you don't mind playing on low detail. Then when you get a bit more cash go for a more beefier card, assuming 79**s will fall in price a bit when Keplar's out, or even a Keplar card if it can support three screens on one card.

The 5850 will still be fine displaying three monitors on desktop, and is very handy for massive multitasking.

Biggest problem with a single HD5850 in Eyefinity is the relative lack of memory. The card itself clocked at around 850/4800 is pretty potent for low/medium Eyefinity gaming.

I run 3560x1920 (3x23" 1080p in Portrait Eyefinity) on a single HD6970 and I play every game I have thrown at it at a mixture of medium and high settings with limited AF/AA. Memory usage is right up around 1800MB though.

Ok im thinking to stick towards the nvidia

so im asking what the diffrence is between these and what one you would go for

XFX GeForce GTX 260+ 896MB
896MB of DDR3 Memory
590 MHz Core
1998 MHz Memory
448 Bit Memory Interface
216 Stream Processors

Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 896MB
896MB of DDR3 Memory
612 MHz Core
1998 MHz Memory
448 Bit Memory Interface
192 Stream Processors

Im leaning towards the xfx only because i have that at the moment so eaither way it will be an upgrade from my 9600gso also them are brande new and will be getting two of corse

XFX has more stream processors so go with that one. However, I would imagine the 896mb VRAM would limit the framerates by quite a bit.

What motherboard and power supply do you have?

EDIT: How about a second hand 460 1gb? Could stick with one and then add another when you get more cash? Is there no way of extending the £100 budget?

896MB of VRAM will not be enough, when you run two cards together in either XFire (AMD/ATI) or SLI (NVidia) the VRAM does not add together, rather it uses the least amount. E.g. 2x 2GB cards in SLI/XFire does not give you 4GB of VRAM and a 1GB paired with a 2GB card will only have 1GB of VRAM.

Basically, the bigger the resolution you want to use, the more VRAM you need. For 3x 1680x1050 screens at the very least you will need 1GB, but personally I would be looking at 1.5GB - 2GB cards for the best experience.

Thanks to buy them two cards would cost me £174 so i guess for the right cards i can strech the money. i think id rather stick to nvidia now tho...

asus crosshair formula 2 and just going to upgrade my power supply to a 700w or 1000w .
