Display Problem

Hi guys i have just finished my first build and have hooked up my ati 4850 to my lcd tv at 1080p ... the problem is that it will not fill the whole screen ... plus i have installed all the lastest drivers. Also my hdtv is not detected in Catalyst Control Centre

And btw i am running a dvi to hdmi adapter to my tv
