I have installed a radeon 2600XT graphics card into my pc with athlon 64 processor, and 1 gig ram, I changed my graphics card from a 6800 GT as it broke.

I am experiencing a problem with the display, I have 2x17" monitors hooked upto it, when scrolling windows, maximising, closing etc, the screen is a little slow to refresh and blocks of the previous windows stay on screen for a split second and it's very annoying.

I have the latest drivers for my card and other devices.

The monitors are connected by VGA.

Any ideas what to check?

Thanks!

did you remove the old drivers before changing cards? them problems look like a lack of drivers, also try only 1 monitor

Hi,

I installed a brand new hard disk at the same time with a fresh installation of XP, so I can't think it was a problem with drivers.

I will reinstall the drivers.

Try setting your desktop to (iirc) Windows Classic rather than the XP skin. Card may just not have enough beef for dual monitors plus bells n whistles :)

That's strange, I just tried to update the drivers and it says there is no compatible graphics card installed

Hmm,

I disabled the second monitor and it seems to run fine, don't tell me this crappy card cannot handle 2 monitors, surely it's a half decent one?

Welcome to the wonderful world of ATI drivers... which are of course way better than nVidia drivers /sarcasm.
