DIY GoPro Headrest Mount

Thanks for the comments guys.

On the Mustang forum, someone is concerned about the wood splintering off in an accident and it being so close to my neck. Surely that's very unlikely, even in a high impact collision?

This

I wouldn't want that big piece of wood flying around in my car.

I've done similar, an aluminium bar with two holes so that the headrest slots through it. Another hole at the end with a GoPro tripod mount and a bolt. It doesn't link to both seats but only uses the one. I was a little concerned about a bit bar or metal sticking out the side though in case of an accident.

Doesn't give me any shaky footage at all!

On the few track days I've done Blyton Park did allow a suction mount so long as it was tethered with string to ensure it wouldn't fall off.

Outside maybe, but they are a total no go inside.

Its up to the circuit owner, not the TDO too. MSV have banned helmet mounted cameras at all their tracks too now, which is a real shame as I loved the helmet mounted footage.

MSV and Javelin* also won't allow suction mounts on the outside, must be a solid mount. Suction mount is OK inside as long as there is another tether.

I have a chipped bone in my shin from being hit by a sat nav in an accident so you really don't want these things flying around the car. That and they do distract you if they fall off mid corner! And that's without them getting stuck under pedals!

*other TDOs may too, I only work at these circuits.
