DIY Oven cleaning?

Ovenpride works wonders.. However professional clean is also worth it as when I moved into the new apartment took 3 goes with oven pride due to the lack of care by previous tenants . So cost materials and time would have been cheaper.

Damn - wish I'd seen that before I booked lol. I think i'll get it done properly this time and then definitely look into that!

That and oven pride work really well, our last oven was caked in burnt food and after a couple of applications it was as good as new!

Oven pride is great stuff especially if you do it regularly, I've not been as impressed with Mr Muscle, got to say the self cleaning on our new cooker is worth clean the door with spray then wack it on self clean for a couple of ours and sweep out the dust!

Getting somebody out this time. With the chemicals involved about melting skin etc I have nice tattoos on my arms so not worth it lol.

Also as it's 1st time it's been done it will give me somewhere fresh to start from. I clean hobs, microwave etc and simply never thought to clean cooker. *Shrugs* *single man*.

They provide some gloves in the box, and i wear another pair of rubber gloves over it, so long as you're cautious you shouldn't get it anywhere.

Another +1 for oven pride though, cleaned ours just before Christmas, and the trays came out marvellous.

We have one of those multi-purpose steamers (can be used as a mop etc) and it does a great job on the oven without the need for all those nasty chemicals.

I did have to wait a while for it to dry out last time though because it kept tripping the circuit breaker.

Just had someone come and do my double oven for £50, with the time and materials that I'd have to buy it made it much more worthwhile than doing it myself. Also I'd never have got it so clean, it's like brand new inside now.
