Quite proud of myself, I had a wart on my knee and cut the whole thing out with a razor blade that had been sterilised over a lighter. Dabbed all over with TCP and fingers crossed all gone - it was quite a deep cut so I think the blighter is gone forever!

Quite a bit of claret for a while but all sorted now :D

*NOT A MEDICAL THREAD FOR ADVICE*

Tell your own tales - teeth and doorknobs etc!

Years ago I got fed up with a huge wart on my finger which would simply not go. I tried everything. In the end I just bit it off. Bllod everywhere too but it never came back.

why would you do that lol?. You can buy wart remover for £3-4, and save yourself the excessive scarring.

Meh, it'll grow back in a week.

It's a bit emo to be cutting yourself like that isn't it?

hah! Just been annoying me for about a month and I can't be bothered to waste the doc's time. :) What looked like a root came out too??? well, at least a "tail" of skin.

Had a verruca on my foot a few years back. Tried all the chemisty-type things but nothing would shift it. Ended up cutting it out with a pen knife and it has never returned.

That's quite nasty tbh. I would rather have cut it off, but I suppose it's your wart, you can do what you want with it.

I had a veruca on my foot for a while and no treatments where getting rid of it, so I used a pair of nail scissors to cut away at it. It was painless (seriously), but it left a hole in the sole of my foot for a while until the chunk I'd cut away grew back. Never had a problem since.

*Do not use nail scissors to cut off suspicious skin growths. Consult a GP.*

why didnt you just get some wart remover crap and acid it away? i had a wart on one of my fingers sometime last year and it was gone within a week without potentially leaving my self with a scar for life.

i swear if liquid nitrogen were easily available from chemists some people would DIY freeze a spot off there own face

I remember as a kid i had a huge verrucca on the sole of my foot and my mum would do it once a week with a pumice stone and cream and so on. It started to form a sort of hard rim on it and as she was taking the towel off her knee ( with my foot still on it ) some loose stringly bits on the edge of the towel managed to catch this "rim" and proceed to rip the entire verrucca straight out of my foot!

It was like a mini volvano shaped lump of dead skin and flesh and left a half centimeter hole in my foot :P didnt hurt much oddly enough, i think the cream over a few weeks had killed it off.

Yep I did that with my first ever wart ,dug it out root too it came back very soon ,then I tried every wart remover you can buy ,back again it now seems to have gone but I think it will make an appearance sometime in the future .

had a very bad ingrown toenail, doc appointment to remove it but he said no point cutting it because it would grow back the same. couldn't be bothered to wait for hospital appointment as i was in far too much pain to walk!

i ended up cutting the top of my toe open with a razor several times in order to let the nail grow through. 8 years on and no porblems :D

this one time...I had a wart on my nose... So I just dipped my face in acid... :P

No but once tried cutting a verruca out with a knife... Stopped though as it was stupidly painful!

Don't think I've ever turned surgeon on myself really... On similar lines people used to pierce their ears with needles at school. Ouch

I pulled a wart out my finger when I was younger. It shocked me that it was like a mushroom shape and only the small bit poked through visibly. Bled like hell and left a massive hole that took weeks to close up.
