DIY surgery

Sliced the top off a mole once because I kept catching my sleeve on it.
Its gone now, and I just have a red mark where it once was.
:)

To get rid of a wart on my thumb I ended up using wartner to freeze it to the base and then pick out the centre of it and cut a section around it out else it would just stay under the skin and grow back... lol It worked

Yes but as I have hundreds all over me (bloody genetics) its happened accidently more than once as well and im still here. I had one removed via surgery this week, and thats going to leave a much bigger scar (when the stitches come out) than my diy job.

If you had gone to your doctor you could simply have had it frozen off with liquid nitrogen, all fairly silly for tearing at your body with a razor blade.

i've got some little moley nubbiny thing under my arms, isn't it preferable to get them removed by a doc as they can become cancerous?

Is it a skin tag or a mole?
If its a skin tag you can remove it yourself (bit of cotton tied tightly round it til it drops off) if its a mole, as long as they dont suddenly grow, or change shape or colour or are bleeding then they are harmless most of the time. If your concerned you could ask your GP to take a look at it. Mine was removed this week because it had changed colour/shape and they were concerned it was going down the cancerous route. Waiting for the biopsy now.

Ahh from what you describe its a skin tag, my mum said they can be removed by wrapping string around them and tightening it. I'll go the docs sometimes when i'm free as it isn't painful or anything.

Sliced open my elbow and stitched it back together with a needle and fishing line. Actually done quite a few homemade stitches, doesnt really look any different from scars that have been left by proper stitches.

Is that you, Rambo? :D

At xmas, I managed to bend one of my nails back halfway down it's length. Within a couple of days it had become infected...So I prepped a sterile area and used hypodermics to drain it and a scalpel to cut out the bad parts.

Now the nail bed has receded about 8mm on one side of the nail. Delicious.
