Hey, so we're struggling to find a decent DJ for the wedding in August as it's in the mountains, and there aren't many locals about that are epic DJs...

My thoughts at the moment are that; it would be good if I can use my mac mini as the "hub" connected to PA system etc. but I want a piece of software that I can have, say, on the iPad where people can request tunes from the iTunes library, which then queue up in to a coming playlist. If that makes sense?

Does anyone know if anything like this is out there? What options there are etc?

Thanks!

Easiest thing to do would be to ask guests for X songs (depending on how many guests you have) and put them all together in a playlist, mixing up slow and fast songs etc...

(and getting rid of the stupid ones ;) haha)

Is that not just party mode on iTunes / iPad using the remote app? I'm sure that's a feature.

Edit, the removed it and there are many complaints about it. Shame.

Ah dammit, that would have been ideal.

It's like I want more than one bit of software. One that will "mix" the music together in basic form (hell, a fade out, fade in would suffice) and then another where people can send in requests. Trouble is people always think of songs there and then, and are useless at asking beforehand. (We've tried this too, and the sort of stuff we get is chaz and bloody dave!)

Subscribe to Deezer then cancel a month later. Will only cost you a fiver and pretty much has everything you are likely to be asked for. As long as you have good wi-fi there that is.

Virtual DJ should do the job for that bit.

Use a Windows PC/Laptop. Playlist all the songs, hit repeat & shuffle and use the cross-fader enhancement that's built in.

Jobs (not the ****hole, Steve) as good 'un.
