Django Unchained

bit generous tbh love the early tarantino work pulp fiction kill bill but most of his other stuff is **** :D this is okay but not as good as some make out probably 7 out of ten.

a lot of the language feels forced and trying to shock you cause its not pc just for the sake of it. some of the acting is ropey . it basically plays like a 70s glam western with gore and blood.

My thought exactly.. Nowhere near as terrible as Death Proof but really hard going at times where the story just sortof goes off track. And i know QT loves his music in movies but most of it in Django just didnt fit.

Enjoyed it apart from Di Crappio except in the end when he confronts Waltz that was his best bit sfaic. Waltz was fantastic throughout as was Foxx S.L.J was a bit poor not sure if it's the character or his acting to blame though. But a thoroughly enjoyable movie I reckon if the'd cast Depp or Pitt in Di fart farts place it would've been betterer!

Glad this film has a thread of it's own as I thought it was awesome from start to finish & just like some other QT films from the minute you hear the first note & see the first frame you know you are watching a proper movie.
I'll be watching it again & buying it on release.

I'll have to watch this. What a mistake though giving out DVD screeners for the Oscars. Happened so many times now with them getting leaked. There must have been a better way of doing it.

It will affect the box office of this film quite badly I would have thought.

NOT condoning naughty stuff but playing devils advocate for a second I have seen screeners previously which have made me go see the movie in the cinema to experience them fully and also then gone on to buy the dvd.

With Django it's not something that I would have gone to see, not a western fan and find QT a bit hit and miss myself, so it wouldn't have drawn me into paying for it and possibly something I'd have caught 12/18 months from now on sky or suchlike, with a screener I would have not only gone to experience it properly but would also have urged others to.

Yip, big risk to take. I reckon it will take a big hit to their takings at the cinema.

Same with a few other movies too.

i just thought it was waaaay too long for what actually happened in the film, there wasnt any need for the length, the characters dont really need building, the story line is simple yet its over 2.5 hours long?

it wasnt a bad film dont get me wrong, i just felt like i was watching something they tried to make longer for some reason...

Brilliant film, the bit with Leo cutting his hand was brilliant, he actually did cut his hand but carried on with the scene and they used it. You can actually see the shock in his face when he notices what he did ha. Waltz was next level though, I've loved him ever since that first time you see him in Inglorious *******s as the German interrogator.

Give this interview with Tarantino a watch, really funny :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrsJDy8VjZk

I am the only one who though this movie was meh?

Found it pretentious and a bit insulting to what really happened during the slave era.

Samuel L. and DiCaprio steal the show, and btw, there is a moment in the movie where every actors keeps dropping gratuitous N word every 30 seconds as if the world was to end last December, but I am still surprised by nominations, because it's "just" a spoof alternative reality/revisionist blacksploitation spaghetti western b-movie.

This kind of sends a message. Any directorial has-been, especially those who spent last decade writing semi coherent niche-nod scripts under heavy cannabis influence, as long as they make their Octoconda vs Piranhashark with good enough cast and tongue in cheek massive enough for Academy to notice while fast forwarding through DVD, they will, seemingly, get nominated for Oscar .

the 'n' word was used a lot in pulp fiction too. tarantino even uses the word in the film himself and from memory, his wife in the film is black.

I just got back from seeing it and while I enjoyed it overall a fair amount bugged me.

SLJ character was a very strange character, and more time should have been spent investing in him
The film was FAR too long for the story! When you think back not a lot actually happens.

Christopher Waltz was absolutely brilliant, how anybody said DiCaprio was better is beyond me
