DL360 Raid problems

Hi guys,

Im in a bit of a pickle and not sure what the best solution is.

I've got a DL360 G4 server with an onboard SATA controller (Intel 6300ESB)
and a P600 Smart Array controller.

Attached to the server is a HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array Enclosure with 10 x 72GB SAS drives which will be used to distrubite exchange server stoes, edb, stm files etc.

On the actual DL360 G4 server is 2 x 250GB SATA drives which have the OS installed on them.

Soooo heres the actual problem, with the new P600 Raid controller, I had to remove the E200 Raid controller that was previously inside, this was the controller that had both 250GB SATA drives setup in a Raid 1 configuration.

Seeing as how I had to remove it, the onboard SATA controller will now not allow me to setup RAID 1 again on these 2 drives.

To add to this, if I try to add the 2 SATA drives to the P600 controller along with the SAS drives, the controller will only detect the SAS drives (unless I remove the SAS drives in which case it does detect the SaTA drives)

I really just need to know the best way forward, is software RAID recommended on two mirrored drives that contain the OS? THere are no more PCI slots available for the original RAID controller as there is a dual network card in there...

advice appreciated :)
