Any users on here?

I just got one and like it mostly. Two things bother me though

i) It's now got about 20 CD's worth of Apple Lossless audio files on it, and when I ask the iTunes server to refresh it's file list, it takes about 1/2 an hour! I know the files are big but the server app should be just scanning the headers I thought. The plan is to put ALL my music on this box but I'm worried whether it will cope.

ii) When I print via the print server on the NAS - even a one page doc - it takes a couple of minutes for the printer to start up doing something.

Anyone got any ideas?

Is it gigabit? You might need to look at what file system it uses if you can customise that as some are more responsive than others to requests?

Thanks - I think it is gigabit actually.

The stuff that's taking the time though is local on the machine.

Like on the iTunes server, you ask it to refresh through a web interface, then it just sits there chugging the disks for 1/2 an hour - and that's only 100 songs tops.

Shame about these niggles, otherwise it's a great box.

I nearly bought the Icybox but was a bit bothered about lack of support.
