Hi

A friend has sent me an email regarding an annoying error message that has started to appear everytime he boots his laptop.
He is running windows 7 and he says that he has not installed/uninstalled anything that he can think of that would cause this error to appear.

This is what he gets below

C:Users\User\AppData\Roaming\tsidv.dll

He clicks to make the message dissapear and the laptop works fine but its just annoying him !!

Any ideas ?

Thanks

i hope there isn't something more sinister behind that. dlls should never be in the root of that folder. i'd definitely be doing a thorough system check with whatever AV/anti malware software is flavour of the month these days.

If he hovers the mouse over each startup entry directly under the 'command' tab he'll see which one is calling tsidv.dll
As pointed out it doesn't look like anything legit so a Malwarebytes scan should be run after disabling the startup entry. Luckily whatever tsidv.dll is has already failed to start so shouldn't be doing anything nasty in the meantime.
