I grew up listening to rock, metal and hardcore punk thanks to my mum. When I was in my teens and just starting to get into dance music, I found what I was looking for in New York Speedcore and Dutch Gabber. It's got that pounding hard metallic sound that I like from metal and punk.
Eventually I got into Drum & Bass as I liked the tempo of it. The harder the drums the more I like it. I like my Drum & Bass to be bordering on the edge of speedcore / gabber, which I still like. At the minute there's a lot of eastern European and Russian producers making extremely hard darkstep and combining it with rock, metal and punk.
That doesn't mean I'm not partial to a little bit of atmospheric D&B. It's good after you've spent an evening at a club playing darkstep, to come back and put a little Bukem on to chill out.

I think we can post mixes just as long as it's not on Soundcloud, may be wrong though.
Unfortunately not. The person who made the mix would have to have permission to use the copywritten work used in the mix.
Which is bizarre (and stupid), since we can post youtube videos uploaded by anybody who has no right to publish the copywritten work.
it has been deemed that Youtube should look after their own content and tbh in the event of a problem they would be in trouble long before we would
anything else can only be posted with full consent of every artist involved
sorry if you see it as stupid but if we were to be super cautious we could ban youtube stuff too but we like to allow a little flexibility where possible
Surely then soundcloud should look after their own content?
In threads like this and the dubstep thread, I don't see why we can't be more flexible in regards to mixes. Especially with mixes that come directly from labels and professional artists that are put out on podcasts, such as the Barcode Filthcast as one example.
Bedroom dj mixes I completely understand though.
