nope, it's just really distorted
(putting this through my studio monitors).
there's also a severe lack of bass, there isn't really a drop (it's almost the same level throughout, if anything it gets quieter when the drums kick in (you can even see that on the waveform on SC). i'd say the synth noise you've made sounds alright, but it defo needs to sound less like it's going through a bit crusher.
this is one i'm currently working on, really need to sort out the kick, and shuffle a few bits around, but generally happy with it. not saying mine is better in any way, shape or form, but it's more for reference really.
techniques i'm using in terms of production in this tune are:
parallel compression/eq on the drums (using New York compression)
parallel instances of Massive for the b-line sent to a common bus which is sent to a unified bus with limiter, saturation, quite heavy compression, then parallel compressed)
groups of synths sent to a post bus (1 per 3 or 4 synths generally) for delay and/or reverb
drums have their own reverb bus
master out compressed using a valve emulator, tiny bit of balancing eq and a limiter
what software do you use? (synths, sequencer etc) if you want any tips etc feel free to ask
