DNS-320 transfers give error message on Windows...but not OSX?

Hey guys,

Been having a couple of issues with file transfers, more specifically when they are in folders and I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on it.

Currently the set up is PC, DNS-320 and MBP connected to one of the TP-Link Gigabit switches, I've set each device with a static IP so they can see each other no problem. Specifically, the NAS is set up like this:

IP: 192.168.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.0.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1

Then, using the same details the PC and Mac use 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3.

Firstly I realise that using the manual settings above might be completely wrong, I'm not networked oriented so feel free to slate me for it!

Onto the function. As far as my Mac is concerned, all is peachy, I can transfer folders files etc... all good.

When I do the same on my PC, I get weird results:

- A folder with a couple of TV shows (about 700MB) is fine.
- A list of separate files not in a folder is fine.

- Anything more than 2 eps in a folder, keeps going but once it's complete I get the message "The folder *name* is no longer in location Z:*filepath*

But when I go through and check everything it's definitely there.

I wonder if it's something to do with permissions of sharing..or possibly due to the fact that there is no DHCP because of the way I have things set up. Just seems odd that OSX says everything is fine and dandy but Windows tells doesn't want to cooperate.

Help, questions, mockery... all welcome if anyone can lend a hand.

Nice one,

Dave.

Hey, yeah normally I would expect the DNS to be that, however there isn't a router in the equation here, hence the lack of DHCP. Everything is connected to the TP-Link switch
