I could do with a higher capacity HD in my D-Link DNS-323. Currently have a 3 TB and a 1TB HD, will replace the 1TB.

Any recommendations? Must be quiet, low vibration. The 3TB is a TOSHIBA DT01ABA300.

Have installed ALT-F firmware which increases the size of the supported capacity in this NAS.

Might go for
WD40EFRX.

Can't seem to find any specific info what the max size is with Alt F firmware, one said "unlimited" but wonder how the hardware support is, for example max size on Qnap TS-209 is 2TB, even if it had Alt F firmware it's a hardware limitation.

What about WD 6TB Blue? About £30 less than the similar sized Red. Still 5400rpm.

Do WD have problems with the shutdown problems like the older WD green in NAS's, I believe they switched off too often which caused hardware failures.
