This is a problem, mainly with my PS3 and router.

I've been getting signed out of Playstation Network reguarly and the error message has always been the same.

DNS Error

I'm not going to pretend I know more than I do so here's the simple jist of this problem:

What is this and how do I make it go away? :p

I've got my PS3 set to auto settings. Anything else seems to cause more problems.

I've got a D-Link DSL G624-T and know little about configuring it. Online guides seem to confuse more than help. :p

I've also constantly got a ping of around 190 in online games and don't know why. :(

First step would be to ensure that your DHCP server settings on the router have you actual DNS servers in there not the router. You want to avoid DHCP forwarding if possible. The ping issue is a secondary concern.

I know nothing about PS3 gaming, but do you connect to other players or a centralised server? If it's the latter, is it a UK or non-UK server as that can upset the ping to that extent.

As for DNS errors, can you view the automatically assigned settings?? If so, does the PS3 have the router as the set as the DNS server (DNS server IP address(es) will be the same as the default gateway in the settings)

Ok you don't want DNS in auto mode you want to put those DNS server IPs listed in the second screen into the boxes in the first screen which will un-grey when you set DNS to manual mode.
