Do all new motherboards do this, did you first build do this?

Just put together a new gaming computer etc and when I pressed power it booted, flashed loads of red lights, then shut off. A few seconds later it booted itself back up and ran like a gem and booted bios

What is this, my other friends computer did this too at his first boot and I was wondering why it doesnt do it again when you clear cmos.

Just wondering tbh

SIDE NOTE OFF TOPIC: Two fans on my case give stupid sensor readings in bios, what could be broke on the fans since it is the fans

I think its something to do with the dual bios on newer boards

My rampage 4 extreme does it quite often nothing to worry about

Some motherboards do, some don't. If they do its only after switching off the power completely. Completely normal and nothing to worry about.

OP it happens on my mobo R4E when I change or fit new hardware or turn PCI-e slots on and off. As long as it is not happening everytime you boot its not a problem.

It seems to be a 'feature' that has crept into Asus' Intel motherboards, I can't speak for AMD as I've not had one in while.

My Rampage IV Extreme did this once when I powered it on having an overclock of 4.8 GHz.

I remember some old cheapo socket A puke brown/yellowy ASUS motherboard I had back in 2005 did this every time and it annoyed me, think I snapped the motherboard in half in the end due to all the problems I had with it. :D
