Do all new motherboards do this, did you first build do this?

tbh i am not sure got a little lost in the jump form bios to UEFI

if its a gigabyte board try flashing the back up bios with the main bios by spamming alt and f10 keys at splash screen,should cure the double boot,best to use the latest bios too

my old asus board does this too after power has been off to the computer

same here...almost got a heart attack when I switched my newly assembled PC on for the first time.

you guys are on about it doing it every time you power off, mine doesn't, it did it once and never again, could it of been because the HDD activity light was in the wrong way round or is it in no way linked to that circuit at all

Next time you shut down, turn it off at the wall or PSU afterwards, leave it a while and see if it does it again.

Also it's got nothing to do with the HDD light
