Do All Subaru's Explode?

I've had the same experience as DreXeL. I am running a UK scoob with mods to around 340BHP. I've had it nearly 3 years now and it gets driven hard both on the road and track. It has never missed a beat. As long as you look after it with decent service intervals and tune it properly there should be no major problems. The gearbox is the weakest link as has already been mentioned.
 
agreed on the gearbox front, my dad's has a 3rd gearbox now lol. but thats down to about 340bhp and a strong clutch.

The simple answer is no they dont, they are one of the most reliable makes on the planet.
Its only those council estate "honest its got 500bhp at the wheels" cars that never get serviced and spend their life bouncing around mcdonalds car parks that spew their guts everywhere.

Does that include my friends 2 scoobs, both with full service history then :D (both stock)

a lot of its down to luck but I think scoobs are a bit more fragile when it comes to fuel used than others.

You dont regularly come top of the JD power survey year in year out for no reason.
Can the 100% reliability of the legacy turbo i owned and the 2.2 GX legacy, impreza turbo and SVX that my old man owned count as well?

My boxer engine has done 235,000miles and it is still going strong and not skipping a beat :cool:
