Ok I tried asking this question on AVForums but sometimes that place can be a nightmare to get any form of response...

Is there a unit which has ALL the following integrated?

*DVD (upscaling)
*HDMI
*DAB
*5.1 Dolby decoding
*USB

The Teac DRH300DAB is the closest I can get, but it doesn't have 5.1, which I really need inside the unit. Seems there are a lot of systems out which do one or the other but not all these and it's killing me as I really need a complete, all-in-one unit for my bedroom. :(

when you say 5.1 encoding, does it need to have an amp or just the RCA outputs to feed into a active home cinema speaker package?

oh, whats your budget, I think the Arcam Movie Solo does what you want but its pretty pricey

I mean Dolby DTS sound-processing etc... and budget, well... preferably £400 or under. I looked at the Arcam Solo but that's way out of my league!

Because I just want a reasonable compact all-in-one for space and convenience reasons really... my bedroom isnt mahoosive and if I could just get something similarish to the Teac except with 5.1 i'd be laughing.

EDIT - Hmm theoretically I could link the Teac with Z5500's for DTS decoding couldn't I?

Have you looked at some of the DVD recorders out there, I have a nice Pannasonic one, HDMI upscaling, Freeview so you get lots of radio channels, whilst it does decode DTS etc mine hasnt got RCA outputs for all channels, what speakers are you hooking them up to ?

the TEAC you mentioned does have optical out, so as long as the Logitecs do your laughing

edit :

Specs of speakers

Source Inputs

* Digital optical for DVD or CD players, PlayStation®2, Xbox®**

I really want integrated DAB though.

So why do you want 5.1 in a small room? would it not sound terrible?

No it's great for gaming, so movies would be fine imo. I plan to ceiling mount some Logitech Z5500's.

Ahhh excellent... the TEAC could well be the ticket then! :)
