Just wondering if any of you play WoW without add-ons?

I find most of them annoying and 99% of them ruin the look of your UI. I've never actually found a problem in WoW that requires me greatly needing an add-on either.

Is it just me?

My Guild / Raid Leader only uses a couple (DBM and oRA2) and thats only for raids. Where as I like to use a complete replacement of the standard UI, thats all the Unit frames, action bars, combat text, mini map etc.

Personally I like the ability to customise the UI to the way that best fits me. With older games like EvE, it would have been great to have been able to shift some of the elements about to suit my playstyle.

In otherwords, No its not just you.

I tried playing without addons but I just couldn't do it. As a tank I could get away with it but if you are a raider it's impossible to play without them. If you're a healer without decent raid frames etc you're in trouble tbh.

The bag addon is a must. The quest helper is very usefull too.

Also i think a lot of the addon's where made years a go when wow didnt pinch the ideas and put them into its own UI, so now, i guess you dont need as many.

I remeber one addon, probaly illegal now that showed you the mni map but about x3 the size and everything on it, ie, npc, players and mobs. lovely.

Also the fishing addon was fun, put on a lure, cast and put the fish in your bag too... guess thats banned now too lol..

Since the expansion I've been running with a reduced number of add ons. I can't get on with only having the one standard action bar at all and I think it looks stupid with the extra bars turned on.

currently running only

Bartender 4
Bagnon (how anyone can play without some form of bag and bank add on is completely beyond me)
Cartographer
Simpleminimap (for co-ords and tided mini map)
omen 3

and some professions display add on that i cant remember the name of.

Though i will need to add a few more add on when i finally start raiding properly with my new guild.

I have a full ui full.

My addons folder is over 200mb.

They are all used and needed, from trade ones to raiding ones, i have a full custom ui nothing left from the original ui. I prefer it a lot mow.

I couldn't play WoW without my huge stack of addons... the week following a big-patch-day is a nightmare, waiting for authors to update!

Thats all of em tbh.
I must say I could prob do without any of them. But why would I want to ? :D

I really hate playing wow with its default settings.

It can look so much cleaner and give a great deal more info and stats within easy reach with the use of addons.

I will pop a screenshot up later of my ui :D

Takes me about 3-4 hours if I do a full install of wow to get all the new addons though hehe :D

I couldn't play without them when I played. The one that saved me the most time auto sold all the grey items to the vendors.

There are plenty of useful passive mods though. EG I remember one that used to auto dismount you when speaking to a flight master, although after the game was only out for 2 years they thought to build that in to the game :)

zero addon's here had no problem questing to 80, id say 90% of the wow player base dont read the quests they just run from A to B....

I'd put money on you not being a very good player either, no offence. I can't see someone breaking the 2000+ Arena bracket, or raiding high end game content, with the default UI.

I only have 1 addon which is for co-ords. I dont have any thing to change my UI, its just confusing and ugly if you change it.

Have you seen some of the UI's people have made? Sure, if you have the artistic sense of a 12 year old you can make some ugly, ugly creations. Most dont.
