Do cats grieve?

Yes, animals do grieve and it is one of the most tragic things (and beautiful) that you can ever see.
Condolences to you: that was a gorgeous cat.

I was going to post the same thing as he did but he had the balls to, it is quite worrying when grown adults refer to animals as 'married', is it not?

Again, I can't stand it either, but there is a time and a place, and you know as well as I do that this isn't it.

That's strangely touching.

Did you ever get another rabbit?
Yes I did, couldnt bear to see him on his own

My comment was more of a tongue in cheek one, I dont seriously consider them married but I have had one boy rabbit for 6 years and in that time he has had two female companions, so its just easier to refer to them that way.

Calm down people I am completely sane, and as already pointed out, it wasnt exactly the thread to be commenting on such things, I have only replied to them to answer the questions.
:)

when i was a kid we came home and our cat was dragging its half dead (poisoned) brother across the garden and making crying noises :(

i still feel like killing the guy who did that to them

Thanks for the comments all. I've now broken the news and it was recieved as expected, but we agree that the little chap had had a good life until now, so we will focus on that and the fact that his brother is still around and needs as much attention as he desires and all our love.

Cheers,

Steve & Cat.

I'd feel well bad if i killed a pet :(

I ran over a pheasant the other day, i couldn't stop as there was cars behind me car on the other road, and I'd rather hit it fast than slow and make it suffer, i felt bad because it had a mate/partner walking more or less behind it! Sodding stupid animals, they've got wings!

Sorry to hear this.. RIP Moggy!
Know how it feels as I've been devastated every time one of my cats has died.. :(
All the best for his brother though.. Hope he lives a long and prosperous life! :)

My cat was about 19 (human years) when it ran away. Sometimes they do it to stop the owner from seeing them dead. Poor thing. Afterwards, the dog would try to be like the cat, I guess trying to replace her.

Rest in peace dear cat.

i dont own pets.. but this thread has made me realise something i never woulda thought of before.. :(

What's with the insensitive people in here? Get out.

Sorry to hear about your loss mate. It's awful to lose a pet, especially knowing your other one will suffer as well. :(
