Do consoles take HDMI yet?

Hi gamers out there :-)

Apart from the Sega Megadrive, I have always been a PC gamer. Everything was SCART back then, and when I posted a thread here back in 2004 about hooking a Gamecube to a monitor, the fact was you couldn't and you needed a VIVO (video-in video-out) card. Have consoles transitioned to HDMI yet? Can you wire up a Wii or Wii:U to monitors?

I now have an all-in-one PC that takes both HDMI-in and HDMI-out. If you use HDMI-out, it means that you can go dual-screen, which is what I'm using now with a Dell U2412. If you use HDMI-in however, it means you can hook a Raspberry Pi and use the all-in-one as a monitor only.

Thanks Davey.

Is this question really not googleable (is that a word)?

I did google it but got conflicting results. Some results said that the Xbox 360 (as an example) had HDMI, where other pages said it was S-video / SCART only. Got to check out the Playstation line as well, as I wouldn't mind hooking up a PS2 or PS3 and play the Final Fantasy games that never made it to the PC. Kingdom Hearts 1/2 as well.

My first reaction to the title of this thread was "WOW!?" but yes consoles have taken HDMI for about 8 years at least

More like seven years. PS3 was the first console to have HDMI as standard.

The Wii doesn't have HDMI support, nor do the early 360s although RRoD has probably killed off most of those by now thankfully.
