I am trying to screw in a Cooler master fan but it does Not seem to screw in properly. It gives some resistance but eventually I can separate it from the board.

Is this normal, or does the CPU fan need stand-offs?

What cooler are you trying to fit?

Are you having problems fitting the cooler to the motherboard or the fan to the cooler?

Or have I completely misunderstood what you're on about?

You don't screw it into the mobo, the holes are unthreaded. There must be some sort of backplate to go under the mobo maybe?

Unfortunately as my computer is in pieces, I have no means to upload a picture :/

It looks like a screw that won't screw or push down.

EDIT: Yeah, I've got a PTS73 :D is that how I'm known now ;)?

It has an intel E4160 or something (the standard one)

And it actually is an iMax :D

It doesn't look like the picture no. I think I figured out that it rests in some standoff style things. Trying to see how I can get this to work now ;)
