Do HDD's have bios update?

My m4 120 gb has bios update but does the Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD20EARX) also have one? Cant find a thing on it. ta

You do get firmware updates for mechanical HDDs, but they're rare and normally only released to address serious issues.

Unless you have an actual problem don't worry about it. If there is a problem it's more likely you'll to be asked to RMA the drive than be provided with a firmware update.

You can get firmware update for almost all computer hardware, including HDDs.

I had to apply one to my Seagate 1TB drive as there is/was an issue where the head would try and park for no reason causing a chirping sound to be emitted.

Yes occasionally firmware is released for HDD's. The only time I have applied one is to fix a compatibility issue with the drive and my mobo. It looks like unless you have specific problem CaNsA kindly found it isn't worth doing for your drive.
