Do I... do I not... MBP order

needs a clean the crt ;) and new keyboard...

but lush macbook btw ;)

Ps how you finding the airport? Have you tried connecting a non wireless N device to it? if so does it make all the stuff including the MBP run at wireless G?

Not tried TBH.

I bought it for the Gigabit networking and the N 5GHz range.

The airport is amazing tho tbh. Setup SO easily. The BT Hub thing was a sodding nightmare.

Im got 8mb constant transfer so far using N... dunno if thats good or not?

Using the Gigabit connection it got about 30-40Mb/sec.

Deffo worth it.

Bloody pleased with it all :D

Megabytes, always get confused over that :p

What is the best encryption to use? I want to turn it off and just let my MBP access it on the N 5 GHz band.

Any ideas?

My Apiotek eSATA 300 card just arrived from HK.

And, I've managed to get 50mb SUSTAINED transfers from my MBP HD to both my 200GB 7K200 and 500Gb MyBook ES.

All for £25.

Love it.

I've seen :( *cries*

200Gb 7200RPM I wanted, I asked the store guys to talk to managers about it and they said they knew nothing! :(

the 2.6Ghz upgrades cost more so im not bothered by that.

All in all, I dont care.

I love this thing.

Apart from a nice new error with my Silicon Image sil3132 expresscard + mybook ES using eSATA which results in a nice -32 error and a corrupted HD :D

USB works fine tho, so emailed where I bought it and WD and if there is no fix Ill send it back and get a Akasa integral enclosure + Hitachi 500GB SATA to use via eSATA as there 2.5" eSATA with a 7K200 works fine LOL.

Ill post up some screenies soon, just working on checking all files have been copied over before the PowerMac G4 gets wiped and sold.

The 2.6ghz is an added £125 ish probably...

IMO. BUY NOW!!!!

I'll wait until a 250Gb 7200RPM HD arrives, should be early next year :D [To upgrade my MBP 160Gb 7200)

Concorde, if your not happy because of the sudden update get it packed up and ask for a refund.

I know its easy to say your happy with it, but a few days or maybe a week later you could have the newer version.

I'd be onto it right away, it will only leave me a few days without the Mac, but I'd be happy that it will be of benefit.

Seriously dude, I know your happy, but you've got 14 days return right? Your still in it right?

Yes I can, I'd have to pay £60 to get it restocked...

I've got this one all setup as I want (3 days work).

Its more than fast enough, I haven't actually managed to max out the CPU yet ;)

I have a 3.4Ghz C2D which will be a C2Q soon. I just wanted a updated Mac from my PM G4. I've got one which is PERFECT, no yellow issues, temps are fine, no dead pixels.

Bit annoying, but such is life.

My plan was to get this replaced next year with a Penryn MBP anyway.

So all is good IMO :)

It could be worse to be honest, you could've bought a MBP just before they were refreshed to the current Core 2 Duo lineup. I'd feel sick as a parrot if I'd bought one of the older non-Merom MBPs for the same money.

Exactly.

The extra speed is an OPTION IE, £150 more probably and the HD is £50 more apparently (rough US translation).

Not even launched in the UK yet. So it would basically be next month before I'd get it.

Im happy :)

Oh dear, just had two weird things happen today:

1. Wireless just completely dropped out for no reason and wouldn't find a new network until it was restarted.
2. Kernel panicked when I wasn't even using it!

Lets hope they don't happen again :(
