You said "UHD isn't that much more demanding than 2560x1440" - I think most people would call a good 40+% performance drop in graphically demanding titles a good bit more than "isn't much more demanding". (You can nitpick over the petty details if you like but it doesn't make you any less incorrect).

An average drop of 35% across a wide range of games when you are considering the fact that it's 2.25x the pixels isn't that much of a drop off. Do you understand how relative comparisons work?

How can you not see that 35% isn't that much when you're talking an increase of 225%? However, what it seems to be boiling down to now is that you are disagreeing that 35% average isn't "not that much", which you could have said in the first place without all the smarmy condescending, pseudo-intellectual nonsense that you felt the need to shoe-horn in at every chance you got.

Rroff just got rekt

Rekt, I like it.

Yeah. no.

( Grammatical was intentionally misspelled for irony ;) )

This is the internet son, the place condescending, pseudo-intellectual nonsense goes to die, get used to it.

You can get a 40" UHD (3840x2160) TV for the same price as the ROG Swift, I know which one I'd prefer!

I'd wait if I were you, ROG Swifts are silly money for what you get.

lol

Screw 4k you have to have like 20 Titan for it to even have playable frames on 4k. hahaha

Honestly forget 4K TVs I don't even know why spoffle mentioned it - most of them can only be driven at 30Hz currently from a PC so utterly useless for any real gaming like COD, etc. (even on a casual basis) and the performance hit is much much bigger than 2560x type resolutions (Source: I have an AOC 2868PQU and various 2560x1080-1600 res panels).

The ROG swift looks like a serious contender but its too early really to be making a reccomendation concerning it. From your original post I would probably hazard on looking at good quality 2560x1440 IPS panels as they will be worth it for stuff like WoW and diablo, etc. where the image quality will produce more benefits than the performance. (EDIT: 144Hz panels are nice to have but are going to be of a lesser benefit to you unless you take COD, etc. fairly seriously).

^^^^
This.

It's seems only the people that ARE NOT getting the ROG Swift are the ones against getting it. 4k is a joke at the moment. not many gamers can use this format yet. Nobody has the GPU grunt. Even 3 Titan's isn't enough for playable frames.

I'll stick with my Asus ROG swift 2560x1440p AND....,AND...144hz. thank you very much:D

Well as fun as that was, thats a thread ruined by too much arguing and bickering. To the OP I'd suggest keeping an eye on the main thread about this monitor please now
