Do I have a case for cancelling my contract?

So I'm with orange. The problem is that often when people call me it goes straight to voicemail and then I get a text saying I have a missed call. Makes it really inconvenient when people are trying to call me.

Also orange maps seems to only work 1% of the time!

Both of these problems occur in areas where it is stated that there is excellent coverage. I have had the contract since february. The reason I'm only complaining now is because I have been busy with coursework, work, exams, moving house etc.

What can I do ?

sadly not. And all you'll get here is people calling you a fool for waiting at all.

i'm in exactly the same boat with 12 months left on the deal. I'll be getting on Voda in October and trying to wangle a deal with Orange but i doubt i'll get one so i'll just keep the contract till it expires. Its only £20 a month so its no so bad. Still not good tho.

hmm surely theres something that can be done ? I also realised there charging me extra monthly for traffic tv which my phone cant even use :(

Unfortunately, you only have yourself to blame then.

Try ringing them or pop instore and see what they say - there is a chance its simply a faulty handset. The worst they can say is no. If that happens, cancel it down to the lowest monthly tariff available and maybe take out a separate SIM only deal to see you through.

Can I actually do that? Making the monthly tariff lower ? Or can they say no to that too ?

Most will let you lower it to a point. X phone is free on a 30 p/m contract and on a 70 p/m contract. So if you've got the 70 p/m then the chances are they'll let you lower it down to the 30, but not below.
