Hi I’m new member on the forum, though I've been Overclockers customer since 2017…

Till now I only read threads here and never had true motivation to make account, but since I read here that members only with 1000 post will receive links to new GPUs of 6800x and 6900xt - I thought that I need to ask you few questions:

  1. Do I have a chance to get any GPU link as a new member of this forum, or it only applies to old members?

  2. Do you have something similar for people who were your loyal consumers for years?

Regards,

Rodi

I think you probably misread.

Gibbo has sometimes made an announcement on the forum just prior to launch, but that's available to anyone viewing the forum, even unregistered guests.

I believe there was also a launch announcement on twitter.

Take a ticked and get in line. AMD 6-series has been one, if not the worse GFX card launches in history. That's saying something!

No special privileges here for the forum members, just the usual OCUK tax.

You will be waiting for a LLLLLLLLLLLLLOoooooooooooNNNNNNNNggggggggg time for 6800XT never mind the 6900XT.

See you in 2021.

£60 is nothing these days - in the age of covid and WFH and scalping. Cards go for hundreds over RRP atm

Look I agree its nothing. £60. But where do you stop? £80 quid? £100quid? What's the cut off?

But that's not the point. There is a MRSP for a reason. AMD says this card should cost £600 quid full stop, end of. That's it.

Retailers shouldn't be putting the price over that mark. If the are, they should be slapped down by AMD.

Its a matter of principle, and more people know about it the better.

Know the MRSP, know if you are being overcharged, and if you are happy, spend as much as you like on a piece of silicon i say!!!!

Well the weird thing is that the RRP for cards has been going upwards. The Asus Tuf 3080 for example for £650 and now its like £800. So those people who paid over the odds for it at £700 are now laughing.

Although, people "laughing" at someone paying more over the odds is a bit like some been stabbed and robbed laughing at some been shot and robbed...hardly a laughing matter! :)

I am not sure what you are on about ?

They are laughing as they have saved themselves £100 - £150 even though at the time they thought they were paying £50 over the odds.

It's a simple point,
People "paying £50 over the odds", laughing at people paying £100 - £150 over the odds is a bit daft...neither are good situations for the consumer!

No problem if you don't see that, I understand your point of view.

I get his point not difficult to understand at all....

Or you just wait a month or two and not spend £60-£100 over the odds and actually be laughing because you didn’t pay anything extra at all.
